This is a warming recipe for the cold months of the year. The porridge will give you lots of energy for the morning and keep you filled up till lunchtime.

You will need (serves 2):

– 90g oats
– 1 tablespoon of ground linseed
– 450ml of nut milk or just water
– 1 tablespoon of ground almonds
– 1 grated carrot
– 1 grated apple
– 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
– 1 tablespoon of honey
– 1 tablespoon of coconut chips

Add all the ingredients (apart from the coconut chips) to a large pan and leave to soak for a few minutes
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes until the oats are soft, but not mushy
Top with the coconut chips and more honey if you want the porridge sweeter
