I grew up in a world without brownies (we just did not have them in the Czech republic). Can you imagine? I still feel cheated of one of the best sweet treats a child can enjoy. I am making up for it now!
- 300g chocolate
- 300g butter
- 400g sugar
- 150g gluten free plain flour
- 7 eggs
- 4 tbl cherry syrup (or kirsch if you are baking for adults)
- 100g frozen cherries
- Preheat the oven to 180 C
- Melt the chocolate and the butter together in a bowl over a pan of simmering water, leave to cool for a couple of minutes
- Mix the cherry syrup and eggs and beat until completely combined
- Pour the chocolate mix into the eggs and fold in flour throw in the cherries
- Pour into a deep tray lined with a baking parchment and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until set
