Spicy raw chocolate

Raw chocolate doesn’t have any of the refined or undesirable ingredients such as sugar or dairy and so is practically guilt free. With the nuts and the cocoa butter this treat is high in fats (good fats, but still fats) and so do not eat all at once! It will last in the fridge for up to a week.

  • 250g mixed nuts
  • 150g mixed seeds
  • 50g desiccated coconut
  • 140g maple syrup
  • 110g cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

Method

Combine the nuts, seeds, coconut and spices, salt in a bowl
Melt the cocoa butter on a low heat and then thoroughly combine with the cocoa powder and maple syrup and pour over the nuts and mix
Pour the mixture into a small cake tin, lined with cling film
Leave in the fridge over night to set and then slice as you wish
