These waffles are quick and easy to make. They can be flavoured to your liking – just take out the bacon, cheese, chilli and chives and play around with other spices, herbs, etc.

Ingredients

  • 100g rolled oats
  • 2 ripe bananas chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • Large pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Large pinch of chilli powder
  • 50g grated cheddar
  • 6 strips of crispy bacon
  • Handful of roughly chopped chives

Method

Blend the oats, eggs, syrup, baking powder, chilli and bananas until smooth
Add the crumbled bacon (reserving some for presentation), grated cheese and chives (reserving some for presentation)
Pour the batter into a waffle maker and cook until done
Once they’re all ready, plate them up and top with bacon, chives and a dollop of yoghurt and some more maple syrup
