Granola is easy and quick to make and can be made in a large batch and kept in an airtight container and enjoyed for a few weeks. We add lots of flavourings to ours, but you can also stick to just the classic – oats, nuts and some dried fruit.

Granola base:
200g oats
Handful of pistachios
1 large tablespoon of linseed
2 tablespoons of sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds
1 heaped tablespoon of desiccated coconut
2 tablespoons chopped hazelnuts
1 heaped teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 of a teaspoon of chilli powder (or to taste)
3 tablespoons of coconut oil, melted
3 tablepoons of date syrup

Preheat the oven to 180C
Line a baking tray with baking paper
Combine all the above ingredients and rub thoroughly together and spread evenly on the baking tray
Bake for 10-15 minutes until everything has been evenly toasted (turning the tray if one side is getting too dark)

Flavourings:
2 large handfuls of dried fruit (we used cherries and goji berries)
2 tablespoons of hemp seeds
1 tablespoons of cocoa nibs
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1 teaspoon bee pollen

Once the granola base is out of the oven, leave to cool slightly and combine with all the other ingredients

Store in an airtight container and enjoy with milk, yoghurt and some fresh fruit!
