Have you got any leftover cake? Here is a great way of using it up.

Simply crumble some cake in a bowl and add a couple of dollops of buttercream icing. The amount will depend on how dry the cake is. Once you start combining the cake and icing by hand, it should easily come together, almost like Play-Doh. The mixture shouldn’t be sticky, but pliable. Then roll little amounts into egg shapes. Place them on lollipop sticks. Melt some dark chocolate in a bain marie (bowl set over simmering water) and pour this into a mug, for ease of dipping. Dip your cake pops in the chocolate and leave them to drip off before placing in a lollipop stand.
We decorated ours with golden sprinkles and an edible, rice paper, butterfly.
