Chocolate hot pot

This is flourless chocolate dessert is decadent and delightful. Passionfruit and chocolate go very well together, with the acidity from the passionfruit cutting through the rich chocolate.

Serves 2


  • 70g dark chocolate 70%
  • 45g butter
  • 1 whole egg
  • 70g caster sugar
  • 1 passionfruit


Preheat the oven to 160C
Break the chocolate into small pieces and place in a bowl with the butter over a pot of gently simmering water until melted
Leave to cool slightly
In the meantime, whisk the sugar with the eggs until four times it’s volume
Fold the chocolate into the eggs
Pour into small ramekins and place into a large roasting tray filled half way up with water
Bake for 25-30 minutes until set
Serve topped with passionfruit (we also used pomegranate seeds for decoration)
This dessert can be served hot or cold
